Naemi is a Berlin-based Kansas-born music producer. I was asked to design the cover artwork for their album, 'Breathless, Shorn' which was released on the label 28912 and distributed by Boomkat.
To visually reflect the album's vintage dreampop and shoegaze sound, I created a hybrid, soft-grungy look that evokes late 90s and early 2000s aesthetics.
A special request from the musician was to incorporate a photo taken by their mother. After we agreed that the sunset highway scene in the photo captured the mood of the music enough, I edited it into a pattern and used it across the entire backside of the cover.
